GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
.This cartoon humorously illustrates what will be a reality for many families this year as belts are tightened in a global economic recession. I remember growing up in the sixties when money was tight and marching my beleaguered mother into Woolworth's Store to show her exactly the electric guitar that I wanted Santa to bring. Well despite this and a detailed letter sent to the North Pole via our chimney, Santa delivered a guitar on Christmas morning alright but it was an acoustic and not one you could plug in, I was furious and sulked for the day spreading anything but Christmas cheer ! ~GOSh.~

Strangely enough, given the economy, my family actually has more to spend on Christmas presents this year than we've ever had. We moved into a small house this year, and finances have been better, since then. I am all too aware, however, of those families who will be struggling with these problems. My family and I have been able to donate food and gifts to some of them, and my prayers are with them as well. It's the least we can do with the blessings God has given us.
That's a positive response to the needs of others and one we should all imitate. So easy to get caught up in our own personal comfort zone without thought for others.
